About SAT

1. What is SAT I?

SAT I is a standardized test conducted by the College Board and tests students in Math, Critical Reading and Writing.

2. Why is SAT I important?

Most colleges in the US determine admissions and scholarships based on SAT I scores in addition to a student’s GPA, recommendations and other extra-curricular activities.

3. How often is SAT I conducted?

This exam is conducted 7 times a year.

4. How do I register for SAT I ?

Go to Collegeboard.com.

5. How long is the SAT I test?

It is 3 hours and 45 minutes long.

6. What is the scoring system?

There are three sections in SAT I, Math, Critical Reading and Writing. Each section is scored between 200 and 800. The minimum score one can get is 600 and the maximum is 2400.

7. What is tested in the Math section of SAT I

The Collegeboard covers the following:
Number and Operations; Algebra and Functions; Geometry; Statistics, Probability, and Data Analysis.
